Meet Dr Yuen
Our skin is a tough yet delicate structure that can be lovable one moment and frustratingly volatile the next. Such is our intriguing relationship with our skin that since ancient civilizations, people, and women in particular, have never wavered in their untiring quest to beautify their skin.
My philosophy towards skin care and aesthetics is simple. There is no need to repeatedly subject ourselves to painful and expensive injections and procedures to look good. No doubt such procedures can make us look better but in addition to introducing a foreign body into our skin, some of them are not permanent solutions.
I believe that everyone's skin should be cared for in a systematic, logical, sensible and sustainable manner using simple, tried-and-tested methods. What we do on, and to, our skin should improve the health of our skin, and this improvement should be incremental, cumulative and gradual.
I liken it to exercising and keeping fit. Just as we keep our bodies healthy and fit by regular exercise, we must keep our skin healthy and fit too.
Rather than search for solutions to "reduce that wrinkle", or "remove that depression", we should look at ways to constantly renew and rejuvenate our skin as a whole, while taking into consideration the specific problem areas that may concern us. For example, as much as fillers are wonderful solutions to obliterating depths and sunken lines, what happens after the filler "wears off" 1 year later? The skin will revert to its original "sunken" look and you will not be any better than where you started off before injecting the filler. In fact, if you have spent all your money on the filler injection and have not much to spare for other treatments, you will very possibly look decidedly 1 year older! Fillers fill ugly depths and give the "impression" that you look younger, but they do not contribute to making you any younger on a physiological or biological manner.
However, if stimulating and rejuvenating procedures such as a fractional CO2 laser are performed, and because collagen remodeling continue to occur for months after performing the laser, you will find that your skin will look better than when you first started off, and you will naturally look better too!
With these concepts in mind, I have had the pleasure to develop my first range of clinical skin care lines for use in combination with my in-clinic treatments. I have combined aggressive ingredients with nourishing and anti-ageing elements and have consciously taken care to ensure that over enthusiastic skin stimulation is avoided, while allowing optimization of our patients' home care regime after clinic treatments. As in everything I do, I try to strike a balance.
Apart from planning good treatment and rejuvenating programs for my patients, I also believe strongly - very strongly as a matter of fact – in the importance of excellent service quality. We treat every patient as if they were our friends and family, and we treat them the same way we would like to be treated. In our clinic, our patients relax on a comfortable bed with soothing music and soft lighting while waiting for their treatment to begin. They do not "line the corridors" with creams on their face while waiting their turn. Top class aesthetic therapists attend to every patient and ensure their needs and comforts are taken care of, right down to every minute detail. The type of masque, the intensity of a relaxing shoulder massage, even the choice of music in the background… no effort is spared in creating a truly unique experience. An igloo we are not, an oasis of warmth is what we are.
I trust you, our much valued patient, will find the gentleness of our approach, the genuine sincerity of our touch, and the joys from our desire to share our expertise, a refreshing breath of fresh air.
Thank you too, for allowing us to share in your lifelong journey toward better, healthier and beautiful skin.
