This is a dual wavelength laser (532nm and 1064nm) using Q-switched technology. With the REVLITE, which is a much improved and advanced version of the familiar MEDLITE series, peak power has been increased by up to 60%. This allows for effective treatment in a controlled and safe manner.

In particular, REVLITE has been demonstrated in studies to be very effective against Melasma, and as an excellent skin rejuvenation tool. Skin rejuvenation treatment brings about an improvement in skin texture, wrinkles and fine lines, reduction in pore size, improvement in certain types of acne scars, and a generally more radiant and brighter facial appearance.

Apart from treatment of epidermal pigmentation using 532n wavelength, there is no downtime and patients can go about their normal activities.

The fractional CO2 laser has gained much popularity in recent times because of its relatively shorter "downtime" and lesser discomfort when compared with traditional ablative laser resurfacing techniques.

The fractional laser beam creates thousands of tiny wounds with normal skin surrounding. Because this is done microscopically, the wound is not visible and the surrounding healthy skin enhances healing time.

The treatment area will be anesthetized with a topical numbing cream, but you may still feel a stinging or burning discomfort during and shortly after the treatment. Chilled air may also be used to increase comfort during the procedure.

Most patients experience some downtime or "social inconvenience time" that may vary from 3-5 days depending on the individual.

The science behind VPL
The power and flexibility provided by VPL lies in the fact that it is able to use 840 different pulse variations and energy output levels reaching over 50J/cm2. These easily adjustable settings allow doctors to vary the pulse delivery from patient to patient. This allows for maximal comfort and optimal clinical results.

How does it work?
With the advance in technology, pulsed light, and in particular variable pulse light can regularly produce better results than laser. Each light pulse comprises a sequence of rapid shorter pulses. These variable pulses (hence its name), ensures more controlled absorption whilst minimizing heating of the surrounding skin. This means that a greater range of hair and skin types can be safely and effectively treated than was previously possible.

What can VPL be used for?
01 Sun & Age Spots (Skin Rejuvenating)
  •These conditions usually appear in later years and are caused by an excess amount of melanin.
  •Melanin absorbs the light energy from Energist VPL and heats up quickly, whilst the surrounding skin remains cool. The heat causes melanin to break up into smaller particles that are then removed by the body's natural waste processes, living skin clear and smooth.

02 Thread veins, spider naevi and cherry spots
  • Conditions where small veins become visible on the skin's surface.
  • Light energy is absorbed by the blood vessels that make up these imperfections. This absorption process breaks down the vessel walls.
  • Effective Energist VPL treatment allow the body to recognize these broken vessels as waste and removes them naturally.

03 Wrinkles and fine lines
  • Collagen is the substance in our bodies that keeps our skin looking youthful and smooth. As we age, our bodies naturally produce less and less collagen, resulting in the appearance of the fine lines and wrinkles.
  • The light from Energist VPL stimulates cells in the body called fibroblasts to produce more collagen. The new collagen moves outwards to the skin's surface resulting in a smoother texture, smaller pore size and reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

04 Acne scarring
  • Acne is caused by excess sebum, an oil naturally produced by the body which clogs up pores and causes irritation. Over long periods this can also result in acne scarring.
  • Energist VPL improves both active acne and acne scarring by destroying the bacteria that cause the irritation. Acne is healed significantly following a course of treatment and skin texture and tone is improved as the Energist VPL initiates further collagen production.

05 VPL for acne treatment
  • For acne, the wavelength employed by Energist VPL contributes to the destruction of acne-causing bacteria Proprionibacterium Acnes.
  • With Energist VPL, both short (and potentially harmful) UV wavelengths and longer IR wavelengths (which might cause excessive tissue heating) are filtered out and an appropriate selection of micro-pulses in a longer pulse train ensures precisely dosed energy is delivered to target endogenous chromophores and provide optimum effectiveness in stimulating the body's own immune system response.
  • The major advantages of Energist VPL are that it is safe, virtually painless and has none of the adverse effects associated with more invasive methods.

Hair removal and permanent hair reduction

Silk-peel's Dermal-infusion is a breakthrough treatment that uses "wet abrasion" to infuse the skin with a topical dermaceutical while simultaneously providing diamond exfoliation, targeting the unique needs of your skin to give you the revitalization you want.

Dermal-infusion abrades the upper 30-35 microns of the stratum corneum and clinical studies have shown that it provides even abrasion across the treatment area and rapid hydration to the underlying cells.

Using Kojic acid, Arbutin and Mulberry, this solution neutralizes active melanocytes while calming the skin with Aloe and Glycerin.

  Clarifying Formula
This anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory solution promotes clear skin for patients with pustular or cystic acne using Salicylic acid. The added aloe extract soothes even the most sensitive skin.

Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are very effective and safe tools that can be used to treat a wide variety of skin problems including:
Chemical peels are often used in conjunction with other treatments like lasers, VPL and silk peels to achieve optimal results.

What do I need to do before chemical peels?
A period of skin preparation with selected creams and products are essential before the actual chemical peel.

We will advise you on which creams to continue and which to stop just before the peel day.

How does the chemical peel feel like?
It will feel like something "smarting" on your face. We will monitor your pain level as well as the skin reaction to determine how many layers of peels are applied. This "smarting" sensation will not last more than 20 minutes.

Is there downtime after the peel?
The peel needs to be left on the skin for 6-8 hours. During this period, it is advisable to remain indoors.

There is no downtime because you can resume your normal activities the next day.

However, please avoid the sun as much as possible and adhere to our post-peel protocol which we will share with you.

What should I expect in the week after the peel?
Everyone will peel differently and to varying extents. The first 3 days post peel, you will notice your skin will feel a bit "tighter".

On the 4th to 7th day, the skin physically starts to peel and you will see skin flakes. By the 7th day, peeling should have stopped.

During this period, the use of a gentle exfoliant can help to clear the skin flakes. (Caution: please only use exfoliants prescribed by our clinic)

Body Peels
Body peeling is a form of chemical peel that is very popular among ladies who have skin problems over the chest or back.
We use body peels for the following:
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Hyperpigmentation
• Acne and acne scars
• Laxity
• Dehydrated, dry skin
Body peels can be used on the hands, arms, feet, legs, chest and back.

What will I expect after the peel?
For the first 2 weeks after the peel, you might not notice much physical peeling.

During the 3rd to 4th week, the actual peeling becomes visible.

After the peeling process is completed, you can expect to see smoother, brighter and more radiant skin.

In this treatment, we use "shockwaves" to physically break up fat in a selective and controlled manner. Fatty tissue (or adipose tissue) is made up from the building blocks Glycerol and Fatty Acids. A simple routine of exercising about 2-3 times per week for about 30 minutes each time is useful. A carefully planned diet is also recommended – while removing fat, we do not wish to re-introduce unnecessary fat by consuming an unhealthy diet!

What results can I expect?
You can expect to lose between 1.3 inches to 3.5 inches over 1-2 months depending on the frequency of treatment and individual response.
